9月9日（金曜）よりニュージーランドで『ラグビーワールドカップ2011』がいよいよ始まります。
9月10日（土曜）には日本代表の初戦となるフランス代表との試合も行われますし、是非、日本代表には いい結果を残していただきたいと思います。
レッドハリケーンズには、ワールドカップで代表のキャプテンを務めたコーチ・選手が3人おります。
そんな彼らからワールドカップに対する想いや代表チームに対する応援メッセージをもらいましたので、 公開させていただきます。

■マコーミックシニアヘッドコーチ（1999年大会の日本代表キャプテン）

Minna San Konnich wa!! 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand is going to be amazing with a number of teams that could be the champion. As a player this is the pinnacle of a career where you can really make a difference in your life. The 3rd largest sporting event in the world. Millions of people watching screaming fans some supportive some not. Japan such a exciting time for Rugby a chance to produce great results on the world stage. We must cheer for Japan and hope we will inspire and motivate them as I am sure their courage and play will for us.

皆さんこんにちは。 ニュージーランドで行われる、2011年ラグビーワールドカップ！どのチームもチャンピオンを狙っています。 そして選手としてこの大会でプレーできることは、ラグビー人生の中でも誰もが本当に目標としていることです。 ラグビーワールドカップは、世界でも3番目に大きなスポーツの大会です。 ラグビーファンは勿論のこと、そうでない人も何百万という人が、観戦し熱狂します。 日本代表にとってはこの世界の大舞台で素晴らしい結果を得られるチャンスだと思います。 みんなで勇敢に戦う彼らの姿を応援し、日本代表を奮起させましょう。

■セモフォワードコーチ（2003年・2007年大会のサモア代表キャプテン）

World cup is a historical event that any rugby player wish to play for.　It is a unique event where players　show their talents and passion　for rugby.　Representing ones country　comes with great honor and pride　.I believe every player wearing the color of their country feels proud and wanting to perform well in this prestige event. It is a feeling and opportunity that takes a man beyond himself. I am greatfl and humble that I had the opportuinity to play and represent my country SAMOA in the last 3 World Cups. Win or lose, every player should proud of themselves for making it to the top. Let's all cheer and wish all the players participating in 2011 World Cup all the best. May the best team win. "GO MANU SAMOA "

ラグビーワールドカップは歴史ある大会であり、ラグビー選手であれば誰もが出場したい大会です。また各国の選手たちのラグビーへの情熱や才能を見ることのできる特別な大会でもあります。そして自国の代表としてプレーできることは名誉なことであります。 選手として代表のジャージを着ることができたものは、誰もが誇りに思いそして、最高のパフォーマンスを見せようと思うはずです。 私も、過去3大会においてサモア代表としてプレーさせてもらったことを本当に光栄に思っています。 たとえ勝っても、負けても代表選手は、頂点を目指して戦ったことを誇りに思うべきです。 みんなでこの2011年ワールドカップに出場する全選手を応援しましょう。

■箕内選手（2003年・2007年大会の日本代表キャプテン）

今回のワールドカップに日本を代表して選ばれた選手の活躍を期待してます。ラグビー選手であれば誰もが夢見る大舞台で日頃の努力を思う存分発揮して国の代表として誇りを持って最後まで悔いなく、エンジョイして戦ってもらいたいと思います。 一ラグビー選手、一ファンとして日本代表、そしてドコモのチームメイトであるニュージーランド代表のムリアイナ選手を応援したいと思います。 頑張れジャパン！頑張れミルズ！
